Welcome to May’s LIVE Q+A session!
This month’s session was rich with a varied number of questions – and I love knowing what you’re all curious about! We ran the gamut!
Below you’ll find some time stamps to help you navigate the questions for further reference as well as the notes + references I made in the session.
03:10 – Cold exposure for women (when, how long, timing, not at all?)
- it all depends, but for very active, high achieving + active people, more cold exposure is NOT MORE!
10:38 Menopause? Insights!
- We’ll do a breakout session on this + perimenopause for members! Stay tuned!
15:48 – How to know if you have a pitta imbalance or a vata/pitta imbalance?
- A 1:1 consultation would give us the opportunity to chat through your unique constitution and symptoms, and help us to determine which dosha is more critical for restoring balance.
24:05 – Contraindications to Abhyanga oil massage
- For pitta dosha, I recommend almond oil during summer months if at all.
30:05 – An Ayurvedic view on modern supplementation (AG1, creatine, protein + collagen)
Books that help illustrate the ferocious frequency that modern culture cycles through fad diets:
Supplements I recommend + use:
- Mikuna Foods protein powder: single source, highly digestible, easy to add to porridge, chia pudding or baked goods!
- Xymogen Vitamin D: in the winter time when I can’t be naked outside : )
- Anima Mundi Liver Greens: sometimes I drink these straight up in water, but I also use them in this delicious energy bar recipe.
- Ocean Blue Magnesium: I find this to be the simplest, most economical and effective magnesium out there. No additives means it doesn’t taste like candy…but it works!
52:50 – Navigating destabilizing grief
58:00 Building a best lunch (+ navigating the free lunch opportunity)
- A 1:1 consultation would give us the opportunity to chat through your unique constitution and energy needs, and pick the foods that would best fuel YOUR lunch!
1:01:40 – Managing PMS symptoms
1:06:00 – Ayurveda’s perspective on weight loss
