When I was a little girl, the holiday season stretching between Thanksgiving and the New Year was particularly whimsical because my mother filled it amply with holiday baking. Cookies, specifically.
There were cookie boxes to wrap our gifts in (!!) overflowing cookie tins to share with our neighbors and friends, and a cornucopia of cookies adorning platters, snack plates and every other moment that could use a dose of specialness. It’s no wonder that I wanted a stand mixer more than I wanted a computer when it was time to go to college, and no mystery as to why my only holiday wish is to spend these 6 weeks making sweet magic happen for the people I love, too.
But, the tradition of holiday cookie baking has a new bent in my house. My classical French training as a pastry chef, work as a holistic chef and Ayurvedic practitioner means that the recipes I’m choosing, the ingredients I employ, and the way that I approach holiday baking and cookie making is a bit different than my incredibly talented mother, and I’m proud to report that even with the tweaks I’ve made to our family favorites, my recipes still meet (and even exceed) her gold stars of approval.
In this 2-hour course, we’ll make 3 of my favorite recipes showcasing not only how to bake well, and bake Ayurvedically, but how to uplevel the well-being of every cookie eater in your house.
